The Light of the Year 2023

Now is the time to search for the Light of the Year 2023 in Lappeenranta! Our goal is to recognize and reward the most Inspiring Lappeenrantalainen, whether an individual, organization, or company, who has spreaded positivity and light as well as left inspiring impact on the city. We want to recognize and reward an entity that has positively and inspiringly impacted their surroundings in Lappeenranta. This Light can manifest in encouraging actions, societal influence, inspiring stories of resilience and survival, or simply being an all-around inspiring person. The primary aim of the Light of the Year project is to highlight everyday heroism and a positive attitude or a strong contribution on any other topics in Lappeenranta city. We want to underscore the importance of these values and encourage positivity and a life-affirming outlook within our community. The Light of the Year project is rooted in the tradition of Lappeenranta Junior Chamber International's "Positiivisin Lappeenrantalainen" contest.
